Cascades Nature Park, Compostela, Cebu

 After months of being staying at home and for like almost a year for not being able to do some activities. We finally found a place where we can catch up with our family once again and enjoy a beautiful time to experience nature.

It looks around almost 2 hours to reach the place from where I live and when we go there. If felt so beautiful and romantic. Just like going to a farmhouse.

I drove there and welcomes by these huge rocks and as I go through the driveway,  I was enthralled by how huge the landscape is and also the trees that surround us. It got me even more excited to go there. 

We settled in a tent with tables and chairs and were able to sleep in the grass as if we are actually in a picnic enjoying the sun rays and also the scenery as I drift away to sleep.

By the time I woke up, I checked the place and played along with family members and this huge swimming pool where everyone jumped in and played to their extent until it was time for more adventure.

We did the kayaking, paddleboard, and that 4 people like biking in the lake. It was such a great experience that everyone should try and enjoy.

Dragon Fruit Farm in Liloan, Cebu

On an unexpected day trip, We end up going to Dragon Fruit Farm in Lilo-an, Cebu. It was a two and thirty minutes road trip from my place to the Dragon Fruit Farm, Lilo-an, Cebu. I conveyed my uncle's vehicle going up to the Farm, as I have never been there. 

It was a beautiful 30 minutes drive from the main road of Lilo-an to the Dragon fruit farm, despite the roads were bumpy and a little steep with some roads are along the cliff as I drive and the fact it was a narrow road to have two vehicles running without the other one to stop. 

As we arrived at the Dragon Fruit farm, I couldn't help but feel like nature was calling out to us to come and explore. The sight was breathtaking and it was the perfect place to experience the beauty of nature. Our group consisted of 11 people and we found a parking spot across the farm where many others had gathered to either enter or leave the farm. Despite the parking lot being full, people kept coming in.

Once we entered the farm, we were in awe of the beautiful scenery and couldn't resist taking pictures and filming vlogs to capture the moment. Although we couldn't capture everything on camera, the experience was something new and serene to all of us. We couldn't stop ourselves from dreaming about having a similar farm either in the city or the province as we explored the area. Even though we only saw the crawling cactus and the dragon fruit, the view was still stunning and we couldn't get enough of it.

As the sun began to set, we sat in the lounge area that overlooked the river and talked while enjoying the view. We saw many other locals with their families gathering and enjoying the same experience. We even noticed that outside food was allowed in the lounge, and if we had known, we would have brought some along with us.

If you plan on visiting a dragon fruit farm, here's some information for you. As someone who drove to the farm, we paid a parking fee of 20.00 PHP and an entrance fee of 20.00 PHP. We also tried the delicious Dragon Fruit Milk Shake, which cost 45.00 PHP. The price of dragon fruit ranges from 150.00 to 200.00 PHP per kilo, depending on the season and the farm you visit.

The farm closes at 5:00 pm, and since we followed the protocols of social distancing, we waited until almost everyone had left before leaving ourselves. We were the last ones to go because we were waiting for our milkshakes, which took 2 hours to be served due to high demand.

This road trip was different from others we had taken because it gave us an experience that felt like a ray of sunshine after being held captive during the strict lockdown for six months. Although it was for our safety, it felt like a prison for someone like me who can't stand still in one place. This trip gave us the freedom we had lost, and we were grateful for that.
